Surface Technology


In the department of Surface Engineering, there are several units available for the flame treatment of versatile substrates with different sizes, geometries and consistencies.

 

Unit for the flame treatment of flat substrates up to a width of 130 cm

  •   Non-doped flames to activate polymer surfaces
  •   Doped flames for Pyrosil® coatings (SiOx)
  •   Flexible and adjustable parameters for a broad application spectrum

Unit for roll-to-roll treatment of foils and textile webs (only SiOx coating)

  •   Maximum width of foils and webs: 350 mm
  •   Non-doped flames to activate polymer surfaces
  •   Doped flames for Pyrosil® coatings (SiOx)

Units for the flame treatment of small substrates

  •   Rlexible applicable units
  •   Width of treatment up to 400 mm
  •   Deposition of different materials is possible
  •   Heated substrate holder (up to 600 °C)

r-CCVD unit

  •   Width of treatment up to 200 mm
  •   Deposition of different materials
  •   Heated substrate holder (up to 600 °C)

Versatile handhelds for flame treatment

  •   Doped flames for Pyrosil® coatings (SiOx)
  •   For flexible and mobile use
  •   Suitable for small and middle sized surfaces and complex geometries

Unit for experiments with oxyhydrogen gas flames

  •   Hot flames (up to 2700 °C)
  •   Treatment of small areas (some cm²) by scanning
  •   Coating with several materials
  •   Heated substrate holder (up to 600 °C)

  • STS (Sura Instruments)

- for Pyrosil®

  • Micro pumps

  - for Pyrosil®, liquid or dissolved precursors for other film materials and nanoparticle dispersions

  • Aerosol generators TOPAS ATM 200:

  - for Pyrosil®, liquid or dissolved precursors for other film materials and nanoparticle dispersions

  • Bubbler:

  - for vaporisable precursors
