New Research Results Published

In project cooperation with the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, a research team from INNOVENT

e. V. has developed an innovative composite gel that improves the oxygen barrier of food packaging materials while ensuring safety for consumer contact.

This biodegradable prolamin-based gel increases the oxygen barrier of food packaging materials in low humidity environments. Regarding customer contact and use of the gel in food packaging, its safety was confirmed by biocompatibility tests on human keratinocytes and fibroblasts.
