Expansion of INNOVENT's atmospheric pressure plasma application laboratory

Within the framework of the INNO-KOM funding programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), INNOVENT was able to expand its infrastructure with new atmospheric pressure plasma sources.

The funding (FKZ: 49IZ220009) enables the specific development of current and future research areas. These include for example, the:

  • fine cleaning of surfaces (e.g. metals).
  • plasma-chemical modification of substrate surfaces such as plates, 3D components, foils, textiles, fibres or powders.
  • generation of functional plasma layers with various properties (e.g. adhesion improvement, corrosion protection, hydrophilic / hydrophobic surfaces, photocatalysis, transmission enhancement / reflection reduction, antimicrobial activity, electrical conductivity).

For this purpose, INNOVENT now has three new plasma systems from TIGRES GmbH available, with plasma widths of up to 70 mm. Depending on the substrate material, technical problem or favoured application, the optimal plasma properties (e.g. type of excitation, power and temperature) can be used.

Further information on the technical equipment of the atmospheric pressure plasma application laboratory and on applications of the plasma technology can be found under the following links:
