RESPONSE aims to develop new, clinically relevant therapies with innovative implants, which will lead to a significant improvement in the chances of cure in the treatment of widespread diseases, especially patients with multimorbid diseases and at the same time reduce the health care system load. The focus is primarily on the cardiovascular, eye and ear areas, where novel implants, implant coatings and drug delivery systems (DDS) are being developed.
Within the RESPONSE consortium, INNOVENT is currently working on hydrogel-forming materials based on functionalized hyaluronan derivatives, electrospinnable (bio-)polymers, the integration of active agents for glaucoma therapy in stimulus-responsive hydrogel and fiber-based systems and innovative antibacterial coatings for cochlear implants.
