The effectiveness of cleaning processes, the correct execution of pre-treatment procedures and the quality of coatings after production or ageing can be assessed by chemical analysis of the surface properties. In addition to non-destructive testing methods, we also use specially developed sampling techniques. We can detect or isolate particles just a few micrometres in size or contaminations just a few nanometres thick using our highly sensitive analysis technology.

The technical cotton swab for quasi-destruction-free surface sampling

The combination of the “technical cotton swab” and individual consulting services provides an efficient solution for detecting surface contamination. The R&D project was funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (InnoWatt IW050242).

 

Advantages:

  • no restriction in sample size
  • no removal of samples required
  • sampling directly on site
  • no contamination of the sample through sample preparation
  • adaptation of the measuring technique to the analytical task
