Abrasion & Wear Resistance

The abrasion resistance of flat coatings can be tested using various test methods. Both dry and wet tests are possible.

Device Configuration:

• crosshead Speed: 1-60 cycles/min.
• crosshead Speed Accuracy: ±1% of the set speed
• stroke Length: 20-300 mm
• stroke length accuracy: ±0.01 mm
• max. test plate geometry (WxLxH): 70x350x35 mm

• various abrasion tools (brushes, sandpaper, etc.), also customizable

   

Application Examples:

• abrasion resistance of paints and varnishes (also in conjunction with chemical resistance)
• abrasion test for wood or furniture varnishes
• textile resistance to abrasion, e.g., jeans, leather
• wear of lettering on keyboards
• testing of protective coatings on glass or displays
