Abrasion & Wear Resistance
The abrasion resistance of flat coatings can be tested using various test methods. Both dry and wet tests are possible.
Device Configuration:
- crosshead Speed: 1-60 cycles/min.
- crosshead Speed Accuracy: ±1% of the set speed
- stroke Length: 20-300 mm
- stroke length accuracy: ±0.01 mm
- max. test plate geometry (WxLxH): 70x350x35 mm
various abrasion tools (brushes, sandpaper, etc.), also customizable
Application Examples:
- abrasion resistance of paints and varnishes (also in conjunction with chemical resistance)
- abrasion test for wood or furniture varnishes
- textile resistance to abrasion, e.g., jeans, leather
- wear of lettering on keyboards
- testing of protective coatings on glass or displays
