MCR 301

The MCR 301 is a robust rheometer featuring a large measurement range together with real-time data processing. It allows conduction of several static and dynamic experiments with controlled shear rate (CSR) or controlled shear stress (CSS). Starting from the recording of  simple flow curves to the dynamical analysis of complex liquids, casts and copolymers, various different experimental setups can be combined to simulate process conditions or final applications, respectively.

Methods of Measurement:

  • rotation experiments using controlled shear rate (CSR) or controlled shear stress (CSS)
  • creeping experiments
  • oscillation experiments with adjustable shear- and deformation stress
  • jump experiments (stress relaxation, transient behaviour, formation and deformation of structure)

Measurement Systems:

  • plate-plate measurement system (25 mm and 50 mm)
  • UV-system PTD 150/UV with Peltier temperature control
  • disposable plates for curing experiments

Temperature Control System:

  • Peltier temperature control system (-40 bis 200°C)

Reported Results:

Shear rate, shear stress, rotational speed, torque, temperature, viscosity, kinematic viscosity, yield stress, strain, compliance, complex viscosity, real and imaginary part of viscosity, loss factor, frequency, angular frequency, retardation time spectrum, complex shear modulus, storage modulus, loss modulus, relaxation time, relaxation time spectrum, specific information on the flow behaviour, such as thixotropy, rheopexy, dilatancy, shear thinning
